Ingredients
500g all-purpose flour
200g active sourdough starter
150ml warm milk
100ml water
50g sugar
75g unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 tsp salt
100g dark chocolate, chopped
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm milk, and water. Mix well.
2. Add the flour, sugar, eggs, and salt. Knead until you have a smooth dough.
3. Incorporate the softened butter and knead again until fully combined.
4. Cover and let the dough rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
5. Once risen, divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
6. Roll out each piece into a circle about 10 inches in diameter.
7. Layer the circles on top of each other, spreading the chopped chocolate between each layer.
8. After layering, cut into 16 wedges like a pizza without cutting all the way through.
9. Twist each wedge outward to form a star shape.
10. Let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
11. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
