Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground chicken/turkey as a substitute)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ In a large skillet, cook ground beef (or substitute) until browned. Add onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until onion softens.
3️⃣ Stir in tomato sauce, simmer for 5 minutes.
4️⃣ In a bowl, mix sour cream, cottage cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
5️⃣ In a greased casserole dish, layer half the noodles, sour cream mixture, beef sauce, and shredded cheese. Repeat layers.
6️⃣ Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.
Notes
- You can swap sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
- Add veggies like spinach or zucchini for extra nutrition.
