Christmas Gooey Butter Cookies

Ingredients

1 box of cake mix (yellow or white)
1/2 cup of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup of butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of powdered sugar (for dusting)
1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cream cheese, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined and smooth.
3. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
4. Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
5. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
6. Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, add red and green sprinkles before baking!
